Heading for BaghdadStrikes me the key reason for the request for British troops being moved to Baghdad is fairly simple. The notion of "backfilling" to enable U.S. troops to begin an assault on Fallujah, doesn't quite add up. The numbers of British troops are relatively small in comparison with the numbers the US need to move. Nope the real answer is that Dubya needs to sell the idea that Eyerack is a joint effort involving a coalition of allies to the folks back home who are fed up with the numbers of dead American kids. The way to do this is move some of the foreigners, like the Brits into the firing line and have some of their kids come home in boxes as well. Hoon, is likely to swallow it hook line and sinker!
