Went to a brilly wedding yesterday. Two young people that I have known for a long time. They met via the Woodcraft Folk group that I am involved in, a good number of years ago and here they are married. Fantastic shindig to boot, no expense spared an opportunity to dance, chat, dance and dig the councillor up for the failings of New Labour. We shouldn't do it of course, I mean he even lost his position due to his opposition to endorsing PFI for a new-build school. Did I forget to mention lashings of drink as well.Originally I was supposed to be going to the whole shebang, but unfortunately a couple of extremely important meetings at work meant I had to go in and stay in. Worse than that, one of them overran and it looked like I was going to miss the train, but there fate intervened and a colleague who lives near to the hotel that the wedding was taking place happened to pass by and give me an extremely lucky 30 odd mile lift. Got there before bride and groom and had an enjoyable if costly pint of Guinness.
Scarily txtd jimty at exactly the same time as he txtd me. How bizarre. He is off on holidays to Portugal and kindly sent a txt message to let me know that it was hot there. Its fucking freezing here, cold, winy and rainy. July for chrissakes, more like March.
