Saturday, May 31, 2003Yowzah, Yowzah, Yowzah! Would you adam and eve it? Suddenly the sun is out, its hot, meself and jimty got our jobs on a permanent basis, which means that the apprentice and SCH got our old jobs on a permanent basis and we're moving to a new office with windows and space and the mechanic man jsut phoned me to say that the motor will be ready Monday for an almost affordable price. We had a bottle of Gevrey Chambertin last night for to celebrate the job, looks like we need another one tonight to celebrate things getting better. Is that an invading alien mothership I hear hovering outside the window? posted by timesnewroman at 12:56 PM Friday, May 30, 2003I could have sworn I posted something more recently. All about how its job interview day and that I've been too busy with a presentation and preparation to blog. Both jimty and myself are up for our own jobs on a permanent basis. Can't even get into rant mode regarding the non finding of weapons of mass destruction in Eyerack. Guess that makes Tone an outright lying bastard or a stupid one, you choose. posted by timesnewroman at 6:08 AM Monday, May 26, 2003Long weekend has gone already and I seem to have achieved bollocks all. Waited and waited for the postie to delivery an invitation to a Job Interview along with details of the required presentation to no avail, guess its several sleepness nights to come then. Fortunately jimty was kind enough to forward me said question which gives me a start on it I guess. We went to see the Matrix Reloaded. Thoroughly enjoyable romp with loads of high speed chases, special effects and tons of hand to hand combat stuff. Although she enjoyed it, thewife thought the plot lacked something and the dialogue was shite, but she has that thespian tendency so she may just be making excuses for not grasping its inherent complexities. I shall test her. Me I got 10 out of 10! posted by timesnewroman at 8:49 PM Saturday, May 24, 2003Seems like forever since I posted owt, so in a fit of discipline I'm gonna write something. Actually if the truth were to be known, I'm really procrastinating. I need to put a presentation together for my job interview next Friday. I'm still waiting for stuff in the post, which means I can't really finish the stuff I need to do. Another holiday weekend as well so it's an ideal opportunity to get into the guts of it. So far I've downloaded some different powerpoint templates in a bid to add a bit of wow factor in there. Then I sort of surfed around and founs some fabby stuff. Check out Stars Wars Kid. You need to download stuff but it is quite funny. Also found dodgy Sarf London geezer site. We is off to a sprize party tonight. SusanW is 30 and doesn't know it so her sisters are planning to surprise her. I think that's right. posted by timesnewroman at 4:42 PM Thursday, May 22, 2003The British ruling class have really done an inspiring job when it comes to the subjugation of its poor northern populace. Divide and rule is the tenet and divide and rule they have indeed exploited for 300 and more years. A religious division which is still in place and is still strong despite the fact the religion is now largely irrelevant. We reach the almost pinnacle of Scottish sporting excellence when one of our (normally) shitty football teams reaches the dizzy heights of a European football final and half the country follow them there whilst the other half are hoping they get severely gubbed by a Portuguese team. Lets here it then for Darrel a young lad who is normally (if such a thing can be normal) a R*ng*rs fan, but who insisted on waiting till the last possible moment at the YIK to support Celtic in their epic struggle against a people who taught the world navigation and who once too often succesfully navigated through Celtic's defence. There is perhaps some hope for an up and coming nation of non-bigotted youngsters. jimstewart at approaching 50, forgotten the words to Irish folk songs? Is the your new sash clean? Can you explain the offside rule? Do you now give a fuck about football?Final result was 3 - 2 to Porto. Bollocks. Though Larssen was close to beatification. On another planet TNR remains chaste and has not partaken of the decomposing carcass of slaughtered beasts. No animals were slaughtered in the production of this site. posted by timesnewroman at 5:35 AM Sunday, May 18, 2003So, talentless ugly old french actress Brigitte Bardot not to mention veteran animal rights campaigner has "written" (is there a ghost somewhere?) a new book and where she castigates gays, Arabs and Islam whilst confessing admiration for Jean Marie Le Penis. Ahhrghh!!! Well that's it then, the moment I have been waiting for 15 years of vegetarianism only to end up standing next to some racist old sow. The hell with it. Woman, fetch me a roll and slice I say, and kick the neighbour's dog on the way to the butcher.thewife laughs and offers me one of her bacon rashers (meaty) for two of mine (veggie) Bloody capitalist. posted by timesnewroman at 12:45 PM Saturday, May 17, 2003Pissing down, typical for a Saturday. I have decided to tinker a little with blog. I am attempting to install a comments sector, just in case. I am also hoping to sort out the archives, unless of course the sun comes out. In which case thewife will have some scheme in mind to enjoy the outdoors, most likely during the F.A. Cup final.posted by timesnewroman at 11:44 AM Friday, May 16, 2003timesnewroman is still listening a bit to Gram Parsons, but has now moved on to Buffy St Marie. Folksy ethnic radicalism man!Off on flexi for the whole day and the weather was mingin! Pah that's my sort of luck. However on a more joyful note, I have spent some time in the metropolis that is Kilmarnock and now am the proud holder of a KFC Season Ticket courtesy of Sharpey and Killie's special buy one get one free offer. Joy oh joy. posted by timesnewroman at 8:07 PM Thursday, May 15, 2003This is a cracker. Worthy of the good man Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf himself. U.S. Special Forces' daring rescue of Private Jessica Lynch turns out to have been.....Well the guards had long gone and she was being looked after by nurses. Read it here.posted by timesnewroman at 5:26 AM Wednesday, May 14, 2003timesnewroman is sick. There are few things more pathetic than men with colds. I know I am one and I have one. I attempted to work through it, but jimty and others were clearly of the take your bloody infectious virus out of here and don't smite us with it point of view. There was sympathy as well though and I ought to know better anyway. Its just that we are so damned busy, too much to do, too little time to do it and with the prospect of an interview for the full time permanent, well as permanent as anything is nowadays, post looming. One wants to do it well.Sickness and thewife's busy acting schedule has necessitated our use of tesco.com for this week's supply of groceries. We had a shot at this a couple of weeks ago, when carless, only to abort it as all of the available delivery times were far too late to be of use. (Okay I wanted drink for Friday and Saturday, not Sunday). Anyway, we thought we'd have another go, especially since they were giving us free delivery for our first shopping endeavour. Relatively painless experience although the wife likes to get her hands on stuff first. Had to placate her by letting her operate the mouse. Seemed to work. We now await our goods at roughly the same time as normal and without an impulse purchase, if you discount the 2 bottles of Cava we had to add on to get the bill above the amount to make the free delivery offer. posted by timesnewroman at 12:06 PM Monday, May 12, 2003Clare Short, whit a wummin, eh? Timing is just about 4 weeks too late. Is she really trying to tell us that Tone was actually believable prior to that point re his intentions towards Eyerack? Lock up your kids.IDS informs us Governments have fallen over less. Fallen maybe, but a bit of weight involved in the pushing may be of help. Seems the good old Tories are intent on the abolition of University tuition fees hmm, but for those of you unable to actually afford to go to university (i.e. working class kids) then tough shit, because there will be less places and guess who is first in the queue? posted by timesnewroman at 9:26 PM Saturday, May 10, 2003The reidboy emails in a state of ecstasy. Seems he has a ticket that several folks in the workplace would kill for, several times over. He is going to Seville for some reason, despite his very intense fear of flying. Enjoy.posted by timesnewroman at 10:56 AM Friday, May 09, 2003Just a short post, 1. to show Manuel that I actually get up before this time EVERY day, (weekend excluded) 2. To SCREAM THAT JOHN PRESCOT IS A FAT FASCIST BASTARD WHO DESERVES TO BE RUN OVER BY A FLEET OF JAGUARS OR BETTER STILL NAVAL VESSELS. 3. The Government really really really suck. Big Style. Like a big Dyson. 4. Clare Short hahhahahahahahahaha.Steve Bell is brilliant. jem would love this. posted by timesnewroman at 5:33 AM Thursday, May 08, 2003I had posted last night but damned if the bloody thing crashed before I sent it. It was a rant, that much I remember. Finally they have genuine confirmation that weapons of mass destruction have been found in Eyerack. These being in the form of Typhoid and Cholera, which makes being liberated a whole lot more liberating I guess.Tony has won himself no less than a gold congressional medal of honour from his master across the atlantic for the most sycophantic display of arse licking imaginable. Nice one Tone. Meanwhile back in our own parliament, the retiring presiding officer, David (the other half of Doctor Death) Steel, steals some new powers for hinself prior to exit, to ban the singing of the words of our national bard in the parliament chamber. Good riddance I say. Just cos someone refuses to take an oath of obedience to some parasitic banjo playing inbreed from London. Pah treason I utter. And finally some good news. Very good news actually is the return of Salam Pax, the Baghdad Blogger (see Where is Raed link, to the left). Salam is I guess partly my inspiration for doing one of these thingies. He has been missing since 24th of March or there abouts. The blog world will doubtlessly rejoice. posted by timesnewroman at 5:46 AM Tuesday, May 06, 2003Happy Heinzday to Mr Tweede! He of the cheerful window. Now that easter has gone, we have a new summer theme to brighten our day on passing. This despite his team's rather lacklustre performance at the weekend with young bazza missing not one but apparently two penalties. Seems the league is far from over. Now New Labour want to expel gorgeous George. With that sullen Joyce fellow, complaining of George's Anti-War stance. Rumour has it he's a liability himself, prone to a bit of bevvy and bovver. Remember you heard it here, not in the Telegraph. posted by timesnewroman at 6:09 PM Monday, May 05, 2003Well that's the weekend gone. Didn't seem at all long. Shit weather and nowt to do bar sit about drinking wine. We really must get a life. I saw this in the guardian, and found the link. Highly amusing I thought. Don't believe a word, or a photoposted by timesnewroman at 2:35 PM Friday, May 02, 2003Well what a lovely day! Pissing with rain outside, but I'm off for the whole weekend and looking forward to it too. Oh and there was an election here yesterday and I am more than pleased with the result. Looks like New Labour got a boot up their collective complacent warmongering arses. I voted SSP three times and Rosemary Byrne got elected on the South of Scotland list. So my vote actually counted. Yahoo! and that smug faced arrogant tosser Mike Russel (see post from 18th April) lost, oh joy.Oh and I almost forgot to mention, I got a letter published in the Guardian today cheesy or what. I shall have to go and find one now! I have made Manuel a full partner in this enterprise so watch this space posted by timesnewroman at 3:24 PM
